Fall In New York City
My next stop was another modern museum located in midtown Manhattan. The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) is located at 11West 53rd Street. That is 53rd St. between 5th and 6th Ave. right next to St. Thomas Church. The idea came from John D. Rockefeller´s wife and two friends. The MoMA has a large collection of modern and contemporary art including paintings, sculptures, photography, illustrated books, architecture, drawings and films, to name just some.
Their website has a lot of information on exhibits and hours: http://www.moma.org/
You can find all kinds of exhibits. The have famous exhibits like those for Jackson Pollock and Picasso and really all kinds of exhibits with modern themes. The MoMA is a reminder that we live in an age of dazzling accomplishments in all forms of art. This painting below really caught my eye. I don´t know the story behind it but I like it.
Some of the exhibits will display the things that are very familiar to us. This doesn´t take away from the museum going experience. If you´re a fan of mechanical “toys”, gadgets or just big things then look below.
Here it is again from another angle.
The MoMA has so much more to offer than these exhibits. So if you´re visiting NYC then you should definitely stop.
